4 Ways to Style Graphic Tees

A graphic tee is taking everyone’s favorite basic, and spicing it up with whatever screen print is currently speaking to you. The varieties are endless with screens of vintage logos and brands, to styles that mimic old band tees, to quirky puns and inspiring mantras.

What I love so much about graphic tees are that they are truly universal items that can be dressed up or down. These are my go to tips on how to style graphic tees.

WITH DENIM

You can’t go wrong with denim and a tee for a classic, casual look. To elevate this basic look, tuck or knot your graphic tee. This helps add a little more shape to a typically boxy silhouette. My go to denim are these high waisted pair of Abercrombie jeans, perfect for any body type. Layer a cardigan or a kimono to dress up the look. For a cozier look, add a fleece or teddy jacket when the weather cools down.

ROCKER CHIC

For an edgier look, try styling your graphic tee with a pair of faux leather leggings or pants. These Spanx Faux Leather Leggings are so ridiculously comfortable, while also holding everything in. EVERYONE needs a pair. With a good band tee, this look definitely channels your inner rockstar.

DRESS IT UP

Haven’t you heard? Opposites attract. I’m a big fan of playing with textures and by pairing something so casual like a graphic tee with an dressy skirt or thrown over a dress is the perfect example of mixing casual with dressy. This typically edgy tee adds the perfect contrast to this delicate lace on this dress. I’m really loving satin right now and a satin skirt brings a definitely luxury factor even with styled with the grungiest graphic tee.

PLAY WITH PRINTS

Last, but certainly not least, pair a graphic tee with an all over print. I love to play with patterns that are share a similar color palette, they play so well off one another. An easy print would be any animal print, like leopard or snakeskin. In this case, I styled my graphic tee over a leopard dress, or a skirt would work. Top off this look with a denim jacket to pull it all together. This look would also look great styled with soft pants or shorts. Some of my favorites are these leopard shorts from H&M.
